….it flew by…………….
We had a very busy summer here at the Inn. Our occupancy rate was great and we welcomed guests from all over the world. A special shout out to our American neighbours!
Although hot & humid for may of the days, we all managed to find a shady patio in our amazing downtown for a cold drink or in our garden by the stone waterfall…….lots of shade. Each weekend, there were attractions and events for all to enjoy. If you thinking about visiting Kingston, check out the many websites that list all the events and plan a trip around your favourite activities….lots of music events and venues, Buskers, local artist’s exhibits, awesome theatre and pop up contemporary theatrical events, outdoor cooking displays by Kingston’s best chefs, boat cruises, sailing events, Fort Henry, a tour of Canada’s oldest prison, the Kingston Pen, marathons, sidewalk sales featuring our locally owned and operated shops on Princess Street, trolley tours of our neighbourhoods and much more.
And, last weekend’s celebration and concert by Kingston’s own band, The Tragically Hip!!!! Market Square behind City Hall provided the location for CBC to set up a huge screen with a terrific sound system for all those thousands who could not get tickets for the concert. And thousands throughout downtown, cheered, sang along and danced as they watched TV screens in bars & restaurants……….and viewing parties across Canada and more, thanks to CBC covering the concert live on television.
Kingston thanks The Tragically Hip for their music, poetic lyrics with a very Canadian perspective, their endless support of our town and the joy and energy they bring each & every time. We are so proud that Kingston is still their home 30 years after they first got together in a Kingston high school……. Thank you for sharing your last concert with us.
