History in the making
It has never been clearer that we need to stay connected to others for our health and well-being than during these times. We have all become acutely aware of how much we value and need travel, socializing, and visiting friends and loved ones. Now is the time to take adventures and make discoveries in our own backyards and regions and remind ourselves how very lucky we are.
Kingston and our south eastern Ontario region are very special. Within an hour in any direction of Kingston, you can interact with the winemakers of Prince Edward County, meet and eat with the growers of Frontenac County, cruise the 1000 Islands, hike, bike, float and boat on lakes and rivers that are world-class. Kingston needed a hotel experience to match the quality of our attractions and that represented the history of the city and the aspirations of her future. Frontenac Club is our answer to that need.
The Club has been a passion for our team for more than 4 years. We are all fiercely proud of the city and all that she has to offer, and we are honoured to be the stewards of such a quintessentially Kingston icon like the Club. As only the 6th owners of the building in her first 175 years, we like to think that we have set a course and a new standard for the next 100 years.
Over the last 18 months, we have restored and re-envisioned virtually every space within the Club. Our goal was to create spaces for our guests and neighbours that would give them both a window to the past and a chance to make new history. We want each of our guests to experience the personal attention and service that reminds us how worthy we all are of taking time for ourselves. We are creating an environment where you feel you belong – the feeling of membership. We cannot wait for our loyal guests to see the changes; for new guests to experience Kingston the way we see it; and, for Kingstonians to have a new favourite.

Our philosophy on building a team is not about filling roles or positions. We focus on personalities and are drawn to people who can wear multiple hats. Our team is small but mighty and we are excited to continue to grow it. To name a few, we have an in-house historian who moonlights as a bartender, a woman who managed private luxury charter yachts for 20 years and now manages quality control of our rooms, and a bartender turned world traveller turned marketer who is now back managing the bar. We are excited to continue to make this magnificent hotel into something really special for our guests.
