Did you know that Kingston now has exactly half of all Rembrandt pictures in all Canadian collections?
Queen’s University Principal Daniel Woolf announced before Christmas that philanthropists and collectors Alfred and Isabel Bader have donated Rembrandt’s Portrait of a Man with Arms Akimbo (1658) to the Agnes Etherington Art Centre. This piece is the third Rembrandt painting the Bader’s have donated to the Agnes, and among the most significant portraits from the artist’s late career. The Agnes is making plans to exhibit Portrait of a Man with Arms Akimbo in May 2016.
Book at the Inn now to for the big unveiling!
